The Complete Interview List

1 - Tell us how your project(s) were started.

Floor started summer of 1992 because Anthony, Max and I were big fans of The Melvins, Swans and Godflesh. We just wanted to do something slow, heavy, noisy and along the lines of the bands we were into.

2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Everything! I dream about music, often horrible nightmares about not being ready to play a show, forgeting the songs and having no choice but go on -or- great dreams about writing incredible music that I don't remember when I wake up. haha... I spent most of my life buying music, supporting it, playing it, crying over it, laughing and going apeshit over it and sacrificing everything for it as well. There is nothing else I want to do with my life if it doesn't involve music. Sadly, it doesn't pay much and it's alot of work!

3 - What does art, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Art is the most important form of expression there is. You cannot deny yourself a creative outlet in the arts. It's a sacred connection we have with ourselves and each other. Some understand it and have the eyes and ears for it and they're the "special ones". Others just aren't that important. Haha.. just kidding!

4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?

I don't have a favorite. I'm more into nonfiction and most of the stories are interesting and different. So, I can't say I have a favorite. I like reading real life drama and humor.

5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.

No one knows or understands me better. Too complicated to really describe. I really know that I'm a very caring and very honest person and could be completely insane in a good way.

6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.

I tend to think of myself as worthless and unskilled at times. I also beat myself up for any little mistake I do, either in life or with others that I know. I'm very sensitive, but could be very heartless if I dislike someone. I hold grudges.

7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?

Probably someone out of a Robert Crumb comic.

8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?

From who? Other people or the government? Only if they can control us and steal our money. But, who has the time?

9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?

Sleep, watch DVD's, go to a movie, practice/shows/write with Floor, drink, think too much/daydream and whatever I can do that doesn't involve too much money or work.

10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".

There is no "meaning to life". Nothing happens for a reason and there's no explanation that everyone can agree on. It's quite incredible. But, charish what/who you love and don't get your hopes up too much, you'll ocassionally be let down and it will hurt. Live, stay healthy, no regrets and find happiness until it's over. It could be over tomorrow.
