The Complete Interview List

1 - Tell us how your project(s) were started.

GirlPunk.Net was started in August of 2000 out of my pure fustration at the lack of information on female fronted punk bands. In my search for new bands to listen to, entering "girl punk bands" in search engines either resulted in me getting very few results or just a bunch of links to porn sites. I also tried looking on popular punk websites, but they hardly covered bands with female vocals at all. So I decided instead of being mad about it, I should actually do something. So from that, GirlPunk.Net was born!

2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?

It's a fantastic way to express oneself. Whether you are the one actually creating the music, or if you're merely just listening to it. Everyone involved with music on any level uses it as a mean of expression. It's also filled with so much emotional stimulus. It's something you can relate to if you're angry, if you're in love, or if you're hurt. There's a song about everything you could possibly feel. It's also very theraputic. I often listen to music when I need to escape my problems.

3 - What does art, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Pretty much the same as music. To me, all forms of art are therapy.

4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?

I have several, I can't pick just one. I love Albert Camus, Darcey Steinke, Philip Roth... Authors with an honest approach to writing are the ones that always capture my interest.

5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.

Creative, tolerant, non-judgemental, adventurous, caring.

6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.

Procrastinator, perfectionist, moody.

7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?

I think they would have to create a whole new character for me! I guess, the closest thing to a cartoon character of my personality would be a cross between Emily Strange and Daria.

8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?

No.

9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?

Work on my website, shop, hang out with friends, art, cause trouble.

10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".

The meaning of life is simply to live it.
