The Complete Interview List

1 - Tell us how your project(s) were started.

I'm in In Control, hardcore band from Oxnard, CA. i have only been in for about 4 months, but the band has been around since 1999 and just started by some friends who wanted to play some hardcore music. thats basically it. I also work at Revelation Records, doing sales and running the street team, promoting all the releases and helping out the new up-and-coming bands.

2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Music is my life basically. its what keeps me stable...or what makes me insane(i havent figured out yet). its my therapy, its my outlet, its my expression. a lot of the time its all i got.

3 - What does art, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Art is something personal that NOBODY can take away from you. as long as its coming from your heart, it doesnt matter what you do. of course there are total fakes out there that follow other trends, do whats "clever" and mask it as art, but basically do it for acceptance. thats fraud, not art. art means to me a way to forget, to patch things up, a way to vent, a way to clean the slate, so to speak. and dont forget, it can be really, really fun, which is one of the most important things about it.

4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?

I'd have to say herman hesse. he wrote Siddhartha, Steppenwolf, Damian, Narcissus and Goldmund, and others. the thing i like most about his work, is that most (not all) of his books are pretty easy to read(im not too bright,so i need that element), are interesting, and deal with very spiritual and personal issues. they all have one common theme, inner struggle between good and bad. they usually all end up in a state of being where there is no wrong and right, just a state of being in which what we do has consequences, but there is no concrete morality, which is very much what i have come to believe.

5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.

Cynical, mischeivous, angry, discontent, misanthropic, always willing to get into trouble. im always complaining about something. passionate, mainly about music.

6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.

Whiny, angry, whiny, misanthropic, whiny. not willing to kiss ass for any sort of acceptance.

7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?

Vegan Moe Syszlak from The Simpsons.

8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?

Of course. people arent meant to spend house and hours behind desks. a majority of people cant possibly be monogamous. there are countless little things that have been ingrained into society, both consciously and subconsciosly, that are in place to keep people consuming, keep people scared, keep people glued to their TVs, keep people thinking that this is the only way, and any other will only result in failure, depression and dissapointment. the only thing depressing and dissapointing is knowing that theres a whole world out there to be explored and im tied to bills and some stupid sense of feeling that i need to stay in one place. (damn i need to kick that!)

9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?

I listen to music, play music, go to shows, keep track of my favorite sports teams (im a sucker), eat (I LOVE food), get into mischief (never too old!), read, kick it with the few friends that i have, and kick it with my parents.

10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".

There is no meaning. were all here and thats that. make the best of it.
