The Complete Interview List

1 - Tell us how your project(s) was started.

Pillowscars was started in may of 2002 with the release of the Crowpath 5". The idea of having a label had been lingering in my head for quite some time though, and there was a couple of other names I had in mind but when I saw Pillowscars I knew that was it. Crowpath is one of my favourite bands so it was an honour to start my label by releasing a record together with them.
I started the label because I wanted something important to do with my life. A carrot, if you will, to keep me excited about things and to be part of a creative community. The future holds grand plans so when I finally get a "real" job to pump money into the label, I can daydream of putting releases out during work and when I get home I can live and do fun stuff with Pillowscars. Maybe I should aim on getting a fun job but I just don't know how to get into organised crime.

2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?

It's the one thing (besides naked people) that's on my mind constantly. If I'm not listening to music, I'm probably talking about, or reading about it, or thinking about it. Music is a neverending love.

3 - What does art, in it's entirety, mean to you?

I guess I see that anything that is done with heart and passion is art to me. Whether it's a great song, or an amazing graffiti piece that fills you with warmth when you pass it by everyday. That's what I like about good records, when you take the elements of music and visual art and mold them into even more amazing pieces of art that you can just hold in your hands, look at and listen to for hours and hours on end.
Also, I love comics, and some people think it's just silly kids stuff and just write it off as that instead of taking the time to read a good book in the field. It's art as any other art. It's not low art, it's fuckin ART!

4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?

Kurt Vonnegut. His books just capture me and he's probably the only author of which I've read all of their work. I mean, Cat's Cradle, come on!

5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.

Mike is a nice guy who doesn't talk to much about music or naked people and his sense of humor is right on the spot. Also, I very much enjoy the witty remarks and important comments that he blurts out when watching TV, I find that it enhances the whole experience.

6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.

Man, I'd love to have some real enemies! There's probably someone out there that I've pissed off but I really want an arch-enemy so that I could make up plans about destroying their nest of evilness. But to answer your question, I'm probably not a very good enemy because I can't hold a grudge for very long.

7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?

Mike da bike! Half-man, half-bicycle. He would fight corporate chains (no pun intented... well okay then, a little) during the day and hang out with the Catwomen during the night. Mostly taking on all kinds of secret missions against the supervillains of the universe... with sexy results.

8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?

I think you work for the NSA, yes.

9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?

All I have is free time so most of the time I just get mad at myself for not doing enough fun stuff when I can.

10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".

Laughs. Love. Respect.
