The Complete Interview List

1 - Tell us how your project(s) were started.

Stickers -- I had friends in bands who needed 'em, so I figured out how to make 'em. Then I realized that I could make enough money selling them to quit my job at the Car Wash. Records -- I was putting on shows in my basement and some bands came through that I liked so much that I ended up wanting to make their record. This is one of the most insane decisions I've ever made, and the fact that I'm still doing it after 9 yrs... baffles me

2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?

My life tends to revolve around music. I'm a DJ, I play the drums, I run a record label, and own a printing company that prints mostly for music-related clients. I used to be pretty insistent that music was political, but nowadays I'm more concerned with music being fun -- because I listen to music for enjoyment. I read books for knowledge.

3 - What does art, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Ideas. My happiest moments are when I have an idea. I don't know -- art schmart. It's all about making cool sounds & stuff and having a good time.

4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?

I'm a big fan of Claude Brown right now, cuz I'm reading his book. I like Joel Crawford, cuz he wrote Carfree Cities, an amazing book.

5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.

A moody motherfucker; a workaholic; a rocknroll maniac; a semi-stubborn guy who lives by his beliefs.

6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.

That dude has so many things going on that he's got no time to sit and reflect or just fuckin hang out, what a prick. He's a fucking greedy capitalist, blah blah

7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?

?

8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?

Yeah. Phone solicitors. Scam companies that attach themselves to your phone bill. And then who knows what the government is up to. Why? Cuz power corrupts.

9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?

Listen to records, go out for drinks with friends, DJ parties, shop for records, write, read...

10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".

Having a good time and not working too fuckin hard.
