The Complete Interview List

1 - Tell us how your project(s) were started.

I played in several punk bands in the area since I was 16. When my last band, Reliance, broke up in 1998, the other guitar player and myself decided to move on and start a new project. We ended up calling it Time Spent Driving, and the rest is history.

2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Music is my life. It's my job from 9 to 5 every M - F. It's my hobby when I'm at home at night, when I'm at practice several evenings a week, when I'm playing shows, when I'm driving around in my car. Music isn't just something that needs to be super catchy for me to like, although I do enjoy a good hook - it can be noisy or quirky - or it may just have amazing lyrics that I really connect with. Most of my friends and acquaintances are involved with somewhat similar music, it's actually pretty strange how music plays into that sort of thing.

3 - What does art, in it's entirety, mean to you?

Art is very important to me - music and cooking are on the top of the heap for me, but I'm getting more into web and graphic design daily. I think everyone needs some form of art in their lives - it seems like a natural part of humanity itself.

4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?

I don't have a favorite author, to be honest I'm not the biggest reader. I read a lot, just not usually novels. It's something that I plan on doing more of in the future.

5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.

He's clumsy, he likes to cook, he likes music, he's a father - even though it still seems weird to me. He's extremely sarcastic. He's a nice guy - but he's still a jerk. He can fall alseep pretty much anywhere, he's somewhat anal - he washes his hands a bit more than he probably should. He's outgoing - but shy at the same time. He can be really motivated - or really lazy - depending on the situation.

6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.

He seems grumpy a lot, he's full of himself, he's a jerk, he sucks at playing music, he's rude, he's selfish, he's a know it all, he's defensive.

7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?

Garfield would be nice, but I can't really think of many cartoon characters that would work out quite right.

8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?

Sure, a ton of people could be boiled down to a conspiracy in one way or another. Everyone is manipulated without their knowledge in some form. The government pretty much knows way more about every individual than anyone would like them to know.

9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?

I play music, I cook, I do stuff on the computer - build websites, design stuff, internet, etc. I spend time with my daughter, my girlfriend my friends and family.

10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".

I think you have to live life to the fullest without harming yourself. Try new things, be open to different cultures, try to figure out who you really are, spend time with the people that mean the most to you and don't stress out all the time, find some time to relax.
