The Complete Interview List

1 - Tell us how your project(s) were started.

Trap Them started in spring of 2002, but was not given full attention and effort until spring of 2006. Now, we consider this a beast that will never be put to sleep. The two founding members (Brian Izzi and I) have had other projects and bands, but were never able to get every band member on the same page and put in the amount of dedication that each of us were/are willing to put forth.

2 - What does music, in its entirety, mean to you?

It's one of the only things that I can truly relate to. It's one of the only things that has been a constant in my life. It's a best friend that has never led me in the wrong direction and never will. A day without music is a day without living, honestly. Even when i'm not listening to it, odds are I'm thinking about it, or reading about it....or wishing i was playing it.

3 - What does art, in its entirety, mean to you?

Art is the only true weapon this world has to offer. Artistic self expression and creation speaks louder than any bombs that will be dropped,
For me, personally, I've come to terms with the fact that other than the art I create, I am useless to this world.....and useless to myself. There are three things I feel comfortable doing :writing, painting, and creating music. Of all the things to do in this world, the three that I believe in are three that are almost impossible to make a living at. But, fuck it. I'm okay with that. I'd rather die poor with a catalog of songs, journals, and paint on canvas. I'd rather die as an artist than live as a corpse.

4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?

Though I haven't read his epic novel The Crimson Petal and the White, Michel Faber is by far my favorite newly discovered author. I bought his novel Under the Skin about three years ago, and just got around to reading it last winter. There a couple more books of novellas and short stories by him that are just incredible. Besides Faber, I'd say Bret Easton Ellis and Stephen King. Graphic novel authors would be Alan Moore, Brian Wood, and Warren Ellis.

5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.

Bitter bastard. Sarcastic asshole. blah, blah, blah....

6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.

He sank my battleship.

7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?

I'd make myself one of the little aliens from aqua teen hunger force so that when a movie comes out with me in it, two dudes from boston will put up small posters everywhere. Then people will panic and think I'm a bomb.
That shit sounds rad.

8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?

Of course. Unless you're a fatass right wing christian with a shitload of money, how could you not? Anyone who has made even half an attempt at researching how advertising is done knows that there's a certain amount of brainwashing going on. Anyone who's heard part of a president's state of the nation address knows that certain words and phrases are used repeatedly to trick the everyman into believing he's safe. As long as there are leaders, there will be conspiracies.

9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?

Besides wishing I had more, I do all the things I enjoy. Paint, write, play music, hang out with my ladyfriend.....normal shit. Try not to have panic attacks, try not to get overwhelmed by the prospect of living a life of failure. And, I create new theories as to what the fuck is really going on on Lost.

10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".

Very simple. I want to know the ending of Lost, and I want to tour with Entombed......and have no more panic attacks.
May not be the meaning of life, but it'd damn sure make me feel good for a little while.
Really, there is no meaning. There is just doing what you do, and deciding what will get you through the day. That's good enough for me.
